Quick Questions for Morwenna
Get to know our Operations Director!
1. Netball: what keeps you hooked?
I love the game, and I love being part of a great team of hardworking people all focused on being their best and getting the win (somewhat of a theme throughout my personal and professional life!) It’s also great for a brain break – when you’re on court, you don’t have time or space to think about anything else. It’s almost meditative!
2. D&D: player or Dungeon Master? What’s your favourite character you’ve played?
My favourite character was a rather obnoxious teenage Tabaxi wannabe pirate, with a penchant for challenging others to chilli-eating contests. He ended up having quite the coming-of-age story arc.
3. What’s your go-to board game, and what are you playing on screen right now?
On console I’m currently playing Blue Prince. It’s an amazing game – an instant classic and lives up to the hype if you like complex puzzle games with an engaging narrative throughline. My go-to board game for a party is Codenames. Easy to learn, small to transport, scales for teams and abilities, and great replayability!
4. What did you make during your MA at Falmouth?
I carried out a study of the impact of narrative surprise on the player experience. It was incredibly challenging to complete alongside a full-time job, but equally as rewarding.
5. One thing people would be surprised to learn about you?
I went to Transylvania on holiday this year to visit Bran Castle – home to the legend of Dracula!
